Basic income for care

Tuesday, November 7th
3:45 – 4:35 p.m.

Caring for someone while living in poverty is an impossible but every-day situation for far too many people. Approximately 20% of caregivers earn less than $20,000 a year and all caregivers face out of pocket care expenses. This panel will explore different models of income support for both caregivers and care recipients, including the forthcoming Canada Disability Benefit, retirement security, care allowance and basic income.
