Suzanne-Dupuis-Blanchard

Suzanne Dupuis-Blanchard, PhD is a registered nurse and a professor at the School of Nursing at the Université de Moncton where she also holds a Research Chair in Population Aging and serves as Director of the Centre on Aging. She has worked with older adults for over 30 years, first as a community health nurse and now as a professor and researcher. Her research program focuses on the many facets of aging in place, including among older adults living in Official Language Minority Communities (OLMC). She is recognized for developing Nursing Home Without Walls, an innovative approach to support aging in place. She has co-chaired the development of the New Brunswick provincial strategy on aging, is a past chairperson of the National Seniors Council and a former president of the Canadian Association on Gerontology. She has also been a caregiver – first in her twenties and now to aging parents.
