Headshot of Rhiannon Satherley

Rhiannon Satherley is the manager of the Sibling Support Centre and Services at BC Children’s and Women’s Hospital. She leads programs supporting younger siblings of children with complex medical needs, focusing on their emotional and practical caregiving challenges. With a background in family-centered health care, Rhiannon is passionate about helping siblings navigate the health care system and feel included in their family’s journey.

Drawing on her lived experience as a sibling caregiver, Rhiannon brings a unique dual perspective that shapes her advocacy and program design to help create supportive spaces and resources that build resilience and validates younger siblings’ experiences.

In her role, she fosters national partnerships to break down silos in information access, ensuring families and care providers across Canada can connect to resources and support. Through collaboration, she aims to build more inclusive and responsive care environments.

‘As a sibling caregiver involved from a young age in my sibling’s health care journey, my perspective was often overlooked. This personal experience deeply informs my work supporting younger sibling caregivers and families today.’
