Kelly Michaelson

With over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, Kelly is a dynamic leader recognized for driving innovation and transformation across insurance and health sectors. As Director of Product at GreenShield, she leads the development and launch of new solutions and services—such as the Caregiver Benefit—that advance GreenShield’s payer-provider model and deliver greater value to Canadians.

Kelly began her career in Workers’ Compensation, modernizing systems and improving client experience in both Nova Scotia and Ontario. At the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), she helped implement enterprise-wide case management solutions and digital service channels to streamline operations.

At TELUS Health and TELUS Global Ventures, Kelly shaped the strategy for the Pharmacy Benefits Management portfolio and supported investments in digital health and insurtech ventures, driving growth and innovation. More recently, with Nova Scotia Health, she helped bring Virtual Care (VCNS) and expanded pharmacy services to market, improving healthcare accessibility across the province.

An energetic, team-oriented leader, Kelly thrives on building strong teams, driving change, and turning strategy into measurable impact.

Outside of work, Kelly and her husband are raising three young children in Bedford, Nova Scotia. A former varsity volleyball player for Dalhousie University, she remains an avid supporter of collegiate sports.
